To better serve our student population, and with some loosening of the county El Paso County Health Department rules, we’re excited to announce the following changes for Dining on the UCCS Campus.

Beginning Tuesday, September 8

  • Hybl Café will close at 2:00pm.
  • UC Coffee (University Center second floor) will adjust hours to 7:30am-5:00pm. Breakfast food options are available.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 9

  • Café 65 will adjust hours to 10:00am-3:00pm. Breakfast options are available at UC Coffee.
  • Clyde’s Gastropub will close. Our most popular menu items will be available at Café 65.  (The mobile ordering will still be available, but there are a few issues we have to overcome before we can launch it at Café 65)
  • The reservation system to sit in the dining room at the Lodge will be removed. Students may come and go freely with no reservations necessary!
  • The weekend meal service will move from the Lodge to Roaring Fork beginning the weekend of September 12th.
  • Continuous dining will be at both the Lodge and Roaring Fork beginning Wednesday September 9th.

In addition, with permission from El Paso County Health, we are able to return to self-serve beverages and condiments and that will be phased in by location over the next few weeks. I know that seems small, but we’re all pretty thrilled about it!

As a reminder, students with the all-inclusive meal plans can use a meal swipe at Café 65 or Alpine Express for one of their meals each day (AE has hot food beginning at 7pm each evening). With the new Lion One Card instituted over the summer, we’ve had some students struggling with card issues. Please let your student know that they are still welcome in the dining halls—they simply need to give their name and ID number at the desk. We also encourage you to nudge your students to communicate directly with professional staff if they have a question, concern, or complaint. It’s the best way for us to improve service for all.
